Our Response To The COVID-19 Virus
After speaking with our church leadership, our District Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, and hearing requests from our President and Governor strongly urging Americans to not gather in large groups, we feel it wise and prudent to postpone our physical gatherings starting this Sunday, (and for at least the next 2 Sundays). Our plan is to resume our corporate gatherings on Sunday, April 5. We will update you on this as this fluid situation continues to unfold in our country.
I will be sharing a live podcast message every Sunday at 10:30am on Facebook Live. I encourage you to gather around your screen and let’s worship together virtually. You can make comments, share prayer requests, and encourage one another in this format, while honoring the requests of our leaders to not physically gather for a while to blunt the curve of this virus.
If you don’t have Facebook, we will also be posting our services on our website after the live feed has concluded.
This is an unprecedented time, and God is in control. We don’t walk in fear, but faith. We don’t walk in foolishness, but wisdom, and we don’t walk in despair, but hope. This, too, shall pass. And this is a great opportunity to share the hope we have in Christ Jesus with others who are fearful or anxious.
God is the God of all peace, and my prayer for you is that you will walk in and rest in His peace through this time.
Ministry continues at Faith, of course. If you need anything, please let us know. We are here for you as always. And let me encourage you as well to continue to provide financial support as you’ve done so faithfully over the years. You can set up auto bill pay with your bank, mail your tithes to the church, or pay online through our church website (the last option has a fee included from our provider that is taken out by them and thus reduce the amount the church receives).
Let me remind you again of what Psalm 91 says,
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. 5 You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— 10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. 12 On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. 15 When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
We are here for you and love you! We are praying for you and believing God’s best during this trying time.
See you Sunday online!
